Commissioners debated how to classify campaign signs and temporary business signage under the town’s sign rules. The Commission took the position that campaign signs should be exempt from online registration and per-sign fees; the minutes state that the board favored an exemption so campaigns are not required to "register online and pay a fee for each sign."
Members also discussed making the temporary-sign process less burdensome for small, "mom and pop" businesses while emphasizing that temporary signage should primarily be used for special events rather than daily advertising. No ordinance or fee schedule was adopted on April 13; commissioners asked staff to draft possible language for future consideration.
