Selectboard adopts vending ordinance changes, approves Hound Dogs Class II license

Ivan Beattie read the revised provision aloud: "All vending equipment, trailers and related items shall be portable and mounted on a wheel-based trailer or platform and able to be removed from the vending location districts upon request by the Town." The board approved the updated language (motion by Heidi Chamberlain, second by Jonathan West); the vote was unanimous, 5-0.
Town Manager Scott Murphy confirmed the ordinance will go into effect 45 days from the meeting, which he stated will be Friday, March 20, 2026. The board also considered a Class II vending license application for Hound Dogs (Neil Shulman); Greg Cutler moved to approve the license, Laurie Kunz seconded and the license was approved 5-0.
The changes aim to provide clear regulatory distinction between permanent restaurants and mobile vending operators; staff will publish the updated ordinance and implementation date.
