County Attorney Rick Fox told the Commissioners that a quitclaim deed had been prepared to transfer the Galena Digital Library property to the New Albany–Floyd County Library District for $50,000. The board approved allowing Commissioner Al Knable to sign the deed once the county receives the payment outside the meeting and unanimously approved Floyd County Resolution 2025-16 authorizing the joint transfer.
The board also voted to terminate the interlocal agreement with the New Albany–Floyd County Public Library for the Galena Digital Library location and noted that the joint resolution requires subsequent approval by County Council and the Library Board. No sale contingencies or escrow details were recorded in the meeting minutes.
