Van Buren County approves liens, transfer caps, appointments and permits
Summary
At the June 22 meeting the Board authorized special assessment liens for delinquent Mt. Sterling sewer accounts, approved interfund transfer caps, appointed Jammie Herring to the Veterans Affairs Commission, approved cigarette and temporary alcohol permits, and approved payroll and claims.
The Van Buren County Board of Supervisors took several routine administrative actions on June 22. On motion by Meek and seconded by House, the county treasurer was authorized to place special assessment liens for delinquent sewer accounts in the former city of Mt. Sterling against four properties; each account was listed at $145.24. The Board also approved Resolution #06-22-2026C setting maximum interfund operating transfers for FY2027, including up to $1,057,283 from the Rural Services Basic fund to the Secondary Road Fund and smaller caps to watershed, wastewater, and conservation trust funds.
Additionally, the Board appointed Jammie Herring to the Van Buren County Veteran Affairs Commission for a three-year term ending June 30, 2029; approved FY2027 cigarette permits for Boyd Grocery, Inc. and Douds Kwik Stop; granted a five-day Class C retail alcohol license to Carrie B. Miller of Bonaparte; and approved payroll and claims (payroll #51829-51918, ACH claims and claims lists noted in the minutes). Committee reports were offered by board members on several regional boards and pools.
