Commissioner urges county operational-risk review after library settlement; asks for local control on cell towers

"Bonner County has an obligation to manage our funds. Risk management is supposed to be something that we work on together," the commissioner said, adding that he had asked the county risk manager and internal auditing to look into operational exposure and procedural improvements. He also said he had met with a cell-tower vendor and is working to advance local control over tower siting where federal rules allow. The commissioner flagged long Planning & Zoning meetings and volunteer workload as additional management concerns.
The update included requests for better internal auditing and process improvements, and the commissioner said he will continue to press for operational-risk reforms and report back at future meetings.
