Audrey Savage told the interview panel she saw social media as a primary way to increase attendance at the Bonner County fair and offered concrete help if appointed or even if she was not selected. “If you had a better Instagram page… you would reach more people,” Savage said, and mentioned YouTube and TikTok as additional platforms the fair could use to post event highlights and tutorials.
Savage described practical steps — posting more frequently, using local Facebook groups for free promotion and teaching board members how to schedule content — and offered to mentor whoever manages the county’s accounts. A commissioner noted the board has discussed sponsorships and other marketing strategies but did not have a current assessment of internal social‑media capacity; the panel acknowledged value in adding members with outreach skills. Savage reiterated: “If you need help with social media, I will help.”
Commissioners also noted the fair is two weeks away, so an appointment now would not significantly change this year's event planning, but volunteer assistance in the near term (videography, photography, posting) could still be useful. The panel said a recommendation for appointment will be brought to a regular Tuesday meeting for a vote within about two weeks.
