One commissioner described the sinking fund question as a "gray area" for county funding and suggested it be considered only if budget capacity allows.
The society offered to restructure the budget to show exact line items and to return with clearer evidence of need. Commissioners signaled willingness to treat the curator salary as a base preservation cost while holding the sinking-fund match for consideration when enhancement requests are prioritized within the county budget.
