Middlesex County BZA elects Townes chairman, sets 2026 meeting schedule

The Middlesex County Board of Zoning Appeals unanimously elected Charles Townes as chairman for calendar year 2026 at a special meeting held Jan. 20, 2026, in the boardroom of the Historic Courthouse in Saluda. The board also elected Jackie Taylor as vice chairman and chose Marc Longest to serve as secretary.
The board voted to hold its regular monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Historic Courthouse boardroom. The organizational votes were taken by motion and carried unanimously. A subsequent motion to accept the minutes of the Dec. 15, 2025 meeting also passed unanimously.
