Bay Aging urges Middlesex supervisors to retain one public transit bus to preserve services

During public comment at the March 3 board meeting, Kathy Vesley, President and CEO of Bay Aging, told supervisors the proposed elimination of one of the two public transit buses serving Middlesex County would harm workforce transportation and access to medical appointments and could jeopardize state and federal matching funds for the service.
Tinsley Goad, Bay Aging’s chief financial officer, added that reducing service could reduce matching grant revenue and have broader economic effects in the county. Local residents Leslie Gillie and Thomas Gillie III described how the service supports employment and independence for a family member on the autism spectrum.
