Multilingual learners director invites Linden families to Aug. 21 orientation

Dani Orlean, the district’s director of the multilingual learners department, invited Linden Public Schools families to the district’s 2nd annual Multilingual Learners Orientation Day on Friday, Aug. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. at School Number 1. “My name is Dani Orlean, and I'm the director of the multilingual learners department,” she said as she urged families to attend and noted the program’s goal of “empowering families… through education, health, and community connections.”
Orlean said the event will feature free children’s books and activities, live music, community resources and a backpack and school-supply giveaway in partnership with Linden City. She also said staff will provide immunization information, assistance completing New Jersey family health-care enrollment and help with free and reduced-lunch applications. Flyers, she said, will be finalized and available by Monday. The district indicated the program will be held both inside and outside to accommodate weather and crowds.
