The Ludlow Development Review Board on May 11 reviewed a site-plan and conditional-use application from Ming Zheng for a proposed nine-unit rental building at 18 Bridge Street (SITE-26-001; CU-26-001). Agent Ted Reeves said plans include four two-bedroom and five one-bedroom apartments, a small common room with laundry, and one parking space per unit on an adjacent lot; an existing four-unit building at 16 Bridge Street would remain.
Abutter Christian Calemmo, who had submitted a letter, told the board he was worried about insufficient buffer and screening, lighting impacts, and architectural compatibility, and asked that final approval include dense year-round landscaping, enforceable maintenance, strict lighting standards and attention to building placement and noise mitigation. Reeves said the development team would provide screening, down-lit dark-sky lighting, an enclosed dumpster, and numbered parking spaces. The board asked the applicant to supply a written landscape plan, a lighting plan, and documentation showing parking will be deeded or otherwise guaranteed before the board considers a final decision.
