Taos County approves $100,000 to Taos Main Street for downtown revitalization

Taos County commissioners voted to approve a two-year funding agreement authorizing $100,000 to the Town of Taos to support Taos Main Street's downtown revitalization work.
County Manager Brent Jaramillo told the commission the agreement "will be to spend $100,000 over 2 years" to integrate county resources with Taos Main Street's technical assistance and economic-development activities. Charles Esquierz, executive director of Taos Main Street, thanked the commission and said the county's partnership strengthens the project and improves leverage for state, federal and private funding.
Commissioners discussed the program's role in creating business pathways and voted by roll call to approve the agreement. Jaramillo emphasized the funding is intended to focus on local residents and businesses and to create sustainable programs beyond the ARPA period.
