The board approved a slate of routine business items on the consent agenda. On motion, the board approved the superintendent’s recommended instructional and non-instructional personnel appointments. The board also approved interim rates for physician services while a request-for-proposal (RFP) is outstanding; Mr. Silver said the RFP was advertised and one response had been returned with an appointment to be considered at the August meeting.
On insurance matters the board approved a student-accident policy at a cost of $34,800 and a student-accident catastrophic policy at $4,002.10 for the 2026–27 school year. Mr. Silver explained the district budgeted $50,000 for student-accident coverage and selected a new carrier, Brown & Brown, citing better communication and responsiveness as key reasons for the change.
The board also passed a resolution waiving a potential conflict of interest to enable their general counsel to represent the district in an agreement with Dutchess Community College; the motion carried with a voice vote.
