Marshfield Historical Society schedules July program for 250th anniversary

Mary Leahy of the Marshfield Historical Society told the Selectboard the society has scheduled a program at the Marshfield History Center on July 17 at 6:30 p.m. to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The program will center on the book Freedom and Unity by the Center for Cartoon Studies.
Leahy asked if the Selectboard would like to participate. She and Cheryl Letourneau said the society has only four active members and does not have the volunteer capacity for a large event; they suggested incorporating celebration elements into the fall foliage festival if the community wants a broader observance.
