Town Engineer Chrissy Haskins presented preliminary cost estimates for coordinated utility updates on Center Hill and Spruce Street at the May 20 meeting. The estimates are $1,983,000 for water mains and related work, $1,635,000 for sewer mains, and $1,635,000 for highway/street work, for a combined planning-level total of about $5,253,000.
Haskins said the project would include replacing water and sewer mains, storm drains, any disturbed sidewalks and repaving, and that the work could be broken into sections. She emphasized that the three affected departments would need to coordinate on scheduling and phasing; no construction contract or financing plan was approved at the meeting.
