County reports progress on CAD mobility rollout; most agencies trained

Rensselaer County’s Communications Bureau reported substantial progress May 27 on the countywide CAD mobility rollout: 29 of 39 fire departments have signed the mobility MOU and 25 of those departments have completed training. All 13 ambulance agencies have signed the MOU and completed training, according to a written report by Communications Center Supervisor John A. Mainello III.
The CAD team ran a May 21 refresher for LE Mobile (MDT), Mobility (mobile app) and WebCAD Monitor that drew about 35 attendees. Mainello’s report also noted three new dispatchers are currently in training and the county has approval to hire three additional dispatchers with expected mid-July start dates. "We have 3 new dispatchers in training and we expect their training will be completed soon," Mainello wrote in his submitted report.
Committee members heard that programming of box alarms into CAD is underway for many departments and that completed files will be posted to the county website once chiefs provide final approval. The report also reiterated that pre-plans cannot be entered into CAD because the system is not designed for that function.
