Town reports winter road-materials overrun and PUC recommendation to deny Hunter Park tower

Town Manager Scott Murphy told the Selectboard on April 7 that winter salt and sand expenditures have exceeded the FY budget: year-to-date spending is $333,000 compared with a $215,000 budget. Murphy said multiple storms contributed to the overrun but credited public works crews for maintaining 43 miles of road. He said FEMA payments totaling $432,000 and proceeds from the sale of the town-owned Witherell Lane property will help offset the added cost.
Murphy also reported that the FY 2025 audit is complete; an electronic version will be posted on the town website and hard copies provided to Selectboard members. On a separate matter, Murphy said a Public Utility Commission 'Proposal for Decision' recommended denial of the Hunter Park telecommunication facility application; the town attorney cautioned that the recommendation could change before a final PUC decision.
The Selectboard did not take additional action at this meeting but noted these items for staff follow-up and public posting of audit materials.
