County approves Bridge 51 change order, buys new road lift; Charlestown trail delayed by gas-line conflict

Chief Operations Officer Nick Creevy told the board a $10,000 change order was needed for the Bridge 51 dam removal project to shore up shoreline material; the board approved the additional funds unanimously. Creevy also presented three quotes for a new lift for the road department; the lowest bid was $38,900 from Midwest Automotive Equipment and the board approved that purchase.
Creevy reported a contractor for the Charlestown Road Trail discovered a gas-line conflict not reflected in the plans; work is expected to resume next week and the trail completion schedule is the end of November. He also said an Old Vincennes slide project should be completed by the end of October, after which Community Crossing funds will be used to repave the road.
