Chrissie Haskins, the Town Water Engineer, told the board that after recent repairs Center Hill continues to show problems and that full replacement of water, storm drain, underdrain and sidewalk may be required.
Haskins provided a ballpark estimate of "$4-5 million" for design and construction and said the likely division of costs would be approximately 34% to water, 33% to sewer and 33% to highway. Board members discussed soil conditions affecting the watermain and whether some sewer sections could be rehabilitated via lining rather than full replacement. The board concluded they needed additional analysis and agreed to continue discussion at a future meeting; no funding authorization was made.
