Board weighs options for alternate well testing and possible pause to research locations
Summary
A memo from well driller Jeff Hopper outlined three options for the alternate well: develop as-is, drill deeper, or pause to search for gravel-bearing locations. The board signaled interest in pausing to research other sites and revisit the issue at the next meeting.

Doug Kilburn summarized a memo from Jeff Hopper, who provided three possible approaches for the alternate well: (1) develop the test well as it exists, (2) drill deeper at the current location to see what a deeper test well yields, or (3) pause work at the present site and research other locations in town that may yield a gravel well.
Kilburn told the board he favored putting the current location on hold to research other sites and said the board should revisit the issue at the next meeting. Board members discussed balancing this work with the meter upgrade project and other capital priorities; no vote was taken.
