The Town of Manchester Design Advisory Board approved an application to update two existing freestanding signs in Manchester Center on April 1, 2026. Applicant Jed Harris told the board the request is an appearance update and that the signs’ dimensions will remain the same; the board voted 5-0 to approve the application.
Harris said, “it is just an upgrade to the existing logo and freshen the look,” and confirmed the property currently uses two ground-mounted lighting fixtures. The applicant plans to replace those fixtures with downward-facing, dark-sky-compliant models; staff will follow up to confirm the fixtures meet town standards. Board Chair John Watanabe asked about lighting details before the vote; Ray Nevin moved approval and Chris Conte seconded.
The board recorded the application as S-2026-23 (Tax Map: 16-21-23.00). No changes to sign dimensions were requested, and the approval included the condition that lighting be dark-sky compliant and downward-facing. The motion carried 5-0.
Next steps: town staff will inspect the new fixtures after installation to ensure compliance with the town’s lighting requirements.
