Orchid LLC proposes seven cabins and farmhouse rehab; neighbors express concern

Representatives for Orchid LLC presented a preliminary plan for up to seven commercial cabins (NS-2026-55, Tax Map: 16-20-30) and described intentions to rehabilitate the property's historic farmhouse while removing and expanding a later addition. Frank Parent provided new floor plans and elevations and said the phase I plan would include seven cabins and a pole barn for farm equipment.
A member of the public asked whether the cabins would be permanent rentals or rented like hotel rooms; Parent said he believes they would be rented like hotel rooms. Neighbors Heather Newman and Diana Myrvang expressed concern and said they will remain informed and attend the July 1 meeting for updates. The board took no final action at the preliminary meeting.
