Chair David Michelson said the Planning Commission heard broad ideas at the April 29, 2026 economic development visioning meeting but that public feedback leaned toward starting with smaller projects to build momentum.
Commissioner Thomas West said he appreciated the idea of a tech campus for Manchester and suggested Southwest Tech, currently part of Bennington, might be a potential partner as the concept develops. Commissioner Leon Ward relayed a resident's request for better signage for an existing walking trail between downtown and the recreation park to improve pedestrian access. The Commission did not take formal votes at this special meeting because the agenda was posted the day before, and the body intends to pursue these topics further at its next regular meeting on June 8, 2026.
