Manchester DPW honored as Vermont Public Works Department of the Year

The Town of Manchester Department of Public Works was presented with the 2025 Vermont Public Works Department of the Year Award by Lisa Schaeffler, president of the New England chapter of the American Public Works Association. Selectboard Chair Ivan Beattie and DPW Director Jeff Williams accepted the recognition at the Jan. 20 Selectboard meeting.
Beattie told the board the award reflects “the hard work the Public Works Department has done,” and the board joined in thanking staff for their service. The presentation was made during the agenda's scheduled award item; no formal action was required. The recognition follows multiple recent DPW projects described by town staff as principal contributions to town operations.
