Police Chief Jeremy Bonikowske reported the department closed the year with 196 calls for service and 18 citations issued during the year and noted six calls in January so far; he said ongoing enforcement on Rose Street led to the removal of a vehicle after a notice. The chief described continuing work on problem properties but did not request board action at the Jan. 12 meeting.
Fire Chief Troy Madland presented the Fire Department’s annual report to the board and participating towns, reporting 196 EMR responses in the past year and noting that Kildare’s contract increased by 3%. Madland said the department received a 50/50 DNR grant for $3,600 and documented 256 hours of unpaid extra training and maintenance; four new members will attend entry-level fire training at WWTC in New Lisbon beginning in February.
