The council introduced Ordinance #26-24 to appropriate $130,000 for acquisition of portable radios for the borough’s Fire Department. Borough Clerk Vadovic read the ordinance by title and the measure passed on first reading; a July 28 hearing date was scheduled in accordance with statutory notice requirements.
Councilmember Dell, who led the fire and ambulance liaison report earlier in the meeting, noted the department’s ongoing equipment needs though no additional discussion of vendors or procurement timing occurred on the floor. "Bond Ordinance To Authorize The Acquisition Of New Portable Radios For The Use Of The Fire Department...To Appropriate The Sum Of $130,000", the clerk read, placing the ordinance on the agenda for public comment at the July 28 hearing.
