Dawn Lepori, Town Recorder and water department representative, told the council the town's new billing system has produced delayed bills and incorrect amounts. "Problems with the new billing system, including delays in bill distribution and incorrect amounts," Dawn said, and she said she is working with Springbrook to correct the issues.
Town Manager Stan Foster told the council a preliminary pay-out number has been received from the vendor handling smart water meter upgrades and that "settlement negotiations will commence with the Town Attorney and Town Manager on September 19th." Donna Morrill, a citizen commenter, raised concerns about the billing software's support since it went live in May and urged a review of the contract to ensure adequate assistance and compatibility with smart meters. The council did not take a formal vote but recorded staff plans to pursue vendor negotiations and problem resolution.
