City staff told the Veneta Economic Development Committee that Lot 602 and other West Downtown parcels are being promoted to increase market visibility and that a joint work session on Feb. 23 will focus on next steps.
Management Analyst Jacob Thode said staff has posted Lot 602 and West Broadway lots on a real estate listing site and is contacting brokers about potential feasibility studies and marketing strategies. Community Development Director Kevin Urban said that Lot 602 is outside the floodplain and is ready for development and that the optimal marketing window may align with visible restoration work on the Jack Kelley Road corridor and finalized building pad locations.
The joint work session with the City Council, Economic Development Committee and Business Advisory Committee will review prior accomplishments, FY2026 focus areas and budget considerations, and solicit guidance on Lot 602 and West Broadway development strategies. Staff plans to present available information and gather direction at that meeting.
