Council members approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) on Oct. 14 that would allow Lake County to handle snow removal and certain road maintenance responsibilities on busier routes while the town focuses on service streets. The agreement was discussed in the context of anticipated additional workload from forthcoming annexations.
Kevin Hock introduced the proposal, and council members expressed support for the efficiency gains during winter maintenance. Councilor Tracy moved to approve the IGA and Councilor Collins seconded; the motion carried with five aye votes. The agreement is intended to allocate clearing and heavier maintenance responsibilities so town public-works crews can prioritize local service streets.
