The town manager told council the joint meeting with the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors is scheduled for the 17th and asked the council to hold a preparatory discussion at the Aug. 11 meeting to cover a fire/EMS study and related definitions. "I do have one item related to the upcoming joint meeting with Montgomery County Board of Supervisors... that is scheduled... for the 17th of this month," the manager said, and recommended using the regular meeting on Aug. 11 to level‑set the conversation.
Staff described a long list of zoning and code changes accumulated over multiple years and across departments that will require multiple work sessions. Staff said the list includes state-required changes and other items that "hinder development and the simplicity of our processes," and suggested scheduling additional work sessions (the council discussed options for Aug. 11, Aug. 19 and Sept. dates). Council members requested clearer timelines so they have adequate time to review materials before votes; staff committed to preparing materials and suggested that some items may be previewed first and voted later after additional meetings.
