Council unanimously approves consent items, casts DCAD votes and OKs 57-acre annexation for four warehouses

At the Nov. 14 meeting, the NorthlakeTown Council approved five consent-agenda items, allocated its authority on a separate appraisal-district vote and approved an annexation following a public hearing.
The consent agenda (five items) was moved and seconded and approved unanimously, 7–0. Council clarified that consent items reflect previously budgeted purchases and routine procurement rather than new budgetary approvals.
On an action item, a council member moved to cast all 14 of Northlake’s votes for the Denton Central Appraisal District board in favor of Rob Altman; the motion was seconded and put to a vote per council procedure. Council discussed that Northlake’s 14 votes are a small but potentially influential share and that concentrating votes could be strategic.
The council then held a public hearing on a voluntary annexation and service plan for roughly 57 acres proposed for development as four warehouses totaling just over 900,000 square feet. Staff said the zoning and development agreement were consistent with earlier briefings; after opening and closing the hearing the council voted to approve the annexation and related items unanimously, 7–0.
The council recessed into executive session later; it returned with no action items and adjourned by general consent.
