Council approves amendment to DHL industrial plan development

The council approved an amendment to the industrial plan development covering about 251 acres in the Catherine Branch Industrial District, where DHL is building infrastructure and master streets including a new McPherson Road.
Staff described changes to align standards with adjacent plan developments: an updated concept plan, additional permitted uses, increased allowable maximum height and floor area, adjustments to parking standards (including a minimum 9‑by‑18‑foot parking stall), and new screening and fencing standards for outdoor storage. Staff also noted a requested waiver to oil‑and‑gas well drilling regulations; Jeff Meyer of DHL said the company had reviewed that request and "we're fine with pulling that from the request."
The council opened the public hearing and, with no public speakers, approved a motion to remove proposed subsection 3(k) of the development standards and adopt the amendment. The vote was unanimous. The approval aligns the DHL site’s standards with neighboring industrial plan developments and keeps the project moving through the town’s development process.
