Town begins repairs after town office water damage; Selectboard notes high outside plumbing bid

Town officials told the Selectboard on Jan. 7 that repairs to the former gym (town meeting room) are underway after water damage. "The work is moving along well and both contractors are doing excellent work," Chair Peter Brzozowy reported, and he said the town has begun coordinating plumbing and flooring work.
Brzozowy said a second plumbing bid from Elite Construction totaled about $79,300 and still included non-plumbing work the town had asked to be removed. He also said local contractor Bernie Gage offered a slightly used three-bay restaurant sink for $200 and that Gage will standardize sinks and faucets throughout the building and supply extra cartridges. The board did not select a plumbing contractor at the meeting and discussed next steps for procurement.
