At 9:15 a.m. during the June 27 grievance session, property owner Lynn Roberts presented her appeal regarding a water feature on her Hill West Rd parcel (Parcel ID 00012.029X). Assessor Kevin Grassi described the feature as recessed in the back corner of the woodlands, spring-fed, and more similar to a wetland than a man-made pond because it lacks clear access, designated usage, and maintenance.
The Board determined the feature did not warrant a pond valuation and approved removing the pond and its associated valuation, reducing the parcel's assessed value by $5,000 from $408,800 to $403,800. James Walsh moved the application be approved; Kenny Miller seconded and the motion carried. The assessor entered the change into CAMA and the clerk will mail the written decision; taxpayers have 14 days from mailing to appeal under state statute.
