Selectboard requires written appropriation requests; member offers recreation reserve-fund article

At the Jan. 14 special meeting the Isle La Motte Selectboard set a formal expectation that groups requesting appropriations must submit requests in writing before the board will consider them for the budget.
The board discussed the logistics of appropriations and agreed on the written-request requirement. Cary Sandvig said he would draft language for articles and volunteered specifically to prepare an article proposing a reserve fund for the Recreation Department if such an article becomes necessary. Chair Peter Brzozowy agreed to write the Selectboard letter for the town report, and Cary Sandvig agreed to work on article wording with other board members.
The requirement is intended to provide a clear paper trail for appropriation requests and to help the board evaluate proposals during budget deliberations.
