Commissioners approve routine agreements, accept auditor report and authorize payments

Coryell County commissioners handled a slate of routine but consequential fiscal and contractual matters, including intergovernmental agreements, bond counsel engagement, the auditor’s annual report and payment of presented bills.
The court approved an updated fire and EMS agreement with the city of Copperas Cove that included requested language and invoicing provisions. The court also approved retaining Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP as bond counsel and accepted the county auditor’s FY24 annual financial report after staff confirmed the report can be revisited if questions arise.
After a closed session and discussion of immediate construction obligations, the court approved Budget Amendment No. 6 (moving $200,000 from the grant support fund and $400,000 from the prisoner board fund into the capital improvement fund). Following that amendment, the court approved payment of bills totaling $2,134,047.20 by voice vote.
