Mount Holly reports $60,000 paving grant receipt; audit draft submitted

At its Feb. 10 meeting, the Mount Holly Select Board reviewed January financial activity with Town Treasurer Elizabeth Karle, who said the town received $60,000 of the Hortonville Road paving grant and expects the remaining $120,000 before the end of February.
Karle also reported receipt of an Aquatic Nuisance Control grant reimbursement; most of that reimbursement will be forwarded to the Ninevah Foundation per prior arrangement. She presented the 2025 draft audit to the board, explained that recent changes to auditing standards require more front-loaded engagement (including a signed engagement letter and down payment), and recommended the town engage RHR Smith for the 2026 audit. The draft audit was submitted and the board was asked to accept it for record; the report arrived too late to be included in the Town Report.
