The Westfir City Council agreed at a Jan. 22 work session to draft a resolution declaring an old city truck surplus and to advertise the vehicle for sale at low cost. The council asked staff to bring the resolution and a notice of sale to the next regular council meeting in February for formal action.
“ The value's probably somewhere between $500 and $1,500,” the city recorder said, urging a simple process that would minimize staff time. Council members discussed listing options including the city Facebook page, Craigslist and the post office bulletin board; one member noted the local newspaper (the Highway 58 Herald) charges about $48 per listing and may not reach many residents. Staff said they would prepare the required resolution language and a bill of sale and circulate the packet before the February meeting.
