Newbury Solid Waste Committee sets tasks and May 17 target to implement temporary recycling layout

At the April 18 meeting the Committee compiled a set of action items to implement the temporary reconfiguration that would allow recycling to remain on-site during fire station construction. Charlie Mabey will contact Able to schedule removal of the container, possibly the week after next, and will also contact Meadow about moving containers and whether to purchase a new unit for permanent use after construction.
The Selectboard will identify a date to allow community members to take decking material removed from the site. The Committee will prepare a mapped container placement, parking and garbage pickup configuration for Selectboard approval and will propose hiring a second attendant during the transition to help with sorting and traffic direction. The Committee set a target date of May 17, 2025 to have the temporary configuration in place and adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
