The Town of New Haven Development Review Board on June 15 approved Application #2026-DRB-10-CU, a conditional use request from Multy Builders, LLC to construct a 90' x 100' second commercial building on Lot #2 of the Deer View Park development on Deer View Lane. Jamie Simpson, co-owner of Landmark Engineering & Design, presented plans showing the new building sited south and adjacent to an existing one-story 96' x 100' building; proposed uses cited by Simpson included office space, a retail shop and a possible woodworking shop. The board noted the stormwater permit for the site has been approved and that plans include a proposed truck access road, a parking and maneuvering area, and a 20-foot easement to benefit Lot #1.
The board approved the application by motion, with Chair Charlie Roy moving approval and Kathy Barrett seconding; the motion carried 4–0 (Roy, Barrett, LaBerge, Fyles). The approval included three conditions: hours of operation limited to 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days per week; all lighting to be down-shielded; and an approved wastewater permit prior to finalization. The zoning administrator reminded the applicant that tenant businesses may be permitted in the Highway Commercial zoning district but that a zoning permit is required and must meet all other provisions of the town’s zoning regulations; the board also suggested scheduling a fire department inspection before occupancy. The hearing was closed following the vote.
