Selectboard to hear state briefing on ARPA wastewater and drinking-water grants April 21

Zoning Administrator Peggy Connor told the Planning Commission on April 13 that the Selectboard will host a presentation by Lynnette Claudon of the State Department of Environmental Conservation on April 21 at 7:00 p.m. The presentation will cover American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant opportunities to help municipalities develop public drinking-water systems and community wastewater disposal systems in places lacking critical infrastructure.
Connor said prior projects often stalled because users could not afford the rate increases needed to cover project costs; the April 21 presentation is intended to explain current funding options and how municipalities might proceed. Planning Commission members were encouraged to attend; the presentation is open to members of the public.
