Roads and bridges: board adopts One & Six Year Plan, funds bridge inspections and approves new grader purchase

Transportation remained a frequent agenda item across 2021. The board adopted the 2021'2026 One & Six Year Plan for road improvements following a public hearing (SEG 026). The board contracted Mainelli Wagner for fracture-critical bridge inspections and approved routine bridge inspection proposals; it also accepted culvert bids and multiple rock/aggregate purchases across road fund appropriations (SEG 036, SEG 099, SEG 101).
In November the board approved the purchase of a John Deere 672G motor grader for Road District 3 using a Sourcewell cooperative procurement at a purchase price recorded in the meeting (SEG 1660). Road entrance applications, right-of-way approvals, and claims for bridge-buyback program projects (STWD/CBMP) were also handled throughout the year. Commissioners emphasized timely bridge inspection and EWP (Emergency Watershed Protection) reimbursements associated with the 2019 flood repairs (SEG 036, SEG 155, SEG 1846).
