Community Services Director Eric Howes updated the commission on capital projects and facility work. He said an All Abilities Playground is scheduled for July delivery with installation beginning mid-July and an estimated September completion.
Howes also reported a basketball court redevelopment supported by a Jazz grant targeted for a September grand opening, trail paving coordination with county and regional grants, and restroom and sidewalk improvements currently in design and preparation phases. He noted staffing challenges at the Aquatic & Fitness Center and ongoing recruitment for key positions.
No formal votes were taken on capital items at this meeting; staff indicated consultants are in progress on the Capital Facilities Plan and impact fee updates and will return with further details as designs and grant agreements progress.
