Commissioners approve $1.48 million guaranteed price for law‑enforcement office addition

Nemaha County’s Board of Commissioners authorized a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) contract for an office addition at the Law Enforcement Center in late December 2017. A building committee — which included Sheriff Brent Lottman, Deputy County Attorney Angelo Ligouri and EMA Director Renee Critser — recommended the plan after reviewing space needs and options.
At the Dec. 27 meeting the board voted to authorize Chairman Marvin Bohling to sign the AHRS/Prochaska agreement with a GMP of $1,477,300. The minutes record that the board accepted the committee’s recommendation to keep emergency management offices at the Multi‑Plex while locating the county attorney’s office in the new addition. Sheriff Lottman and the committee had previously briefed the board on layout and security needs for the addition.
The contract includes design and build coordination; the board recorded that the sheriff will advance contracting and preconstruction tasks. The board instructed staff to track the project schedule, with monthly updates to the commissioners and required public reporting.
