Nemaha County adopts 2021–22 budget, sets final property tax rate at 0.329806

The Nemaha County Board of Commissioners adopted the fiscal year 2021–22 budget and certified a final levy of 0.329806 following a public hearing on Sept. 15, 2021. County Clerk Diane Johnson presided over the hearing and later filed the board's adoption resolutions (Res. 2021-26 through 2021-28) that set the spending plan and levy for the coming year.

Commissioners said the budget includes newly established funds to segregate targeted programs. The board adopted resolutions creating a Juvenile Diversion Program fund and an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) fund so grant receipts and ARP allocations are tracked separately from the general fund.
