Nemaha County accepts AHRS bid for courthouse drainage, later signs change orders

Nemaha County commissioners moved forward on a long-planned Courthouse Foundation Restoration and drainage project in February. At the Feb. 16 meeting the board opened an amended sealed bid and accepted AHRS Construction Inc.'s base proposal of $367,600 with an alternate (A‑1) to extend the perimeter grate system for $78,375, producing a combined total of $445,975. The motion passed by roll-call vote.
Later in March commissioners approved a construction change order that removed a lawn-seeding requirement from the AHRS contract and, in August, approved additional construction change directives for ramp and handrailing work. The county clerk’s minutes record the accepted bid totals and the formal change-order approvals that amend the original contract documents; the project schedule and start date remained subject to contractor availability and further site preparation.
