Selectboard clears payroll, budgets, appointments and Town Meeting warning

At its Jan. 20 meeting, the New Haven Selectboard handled a series of routine but necessary municipal actions. The board approved payroll for the weeks ending Jan. 10 ($7,105.77) and Jan. 17 ($6,397.90), and approved pay orders for the week ending Jan. 20 in the amount of $46,225.48, each motion carrying 5–0.
Members also acknowledged receipt of November and December 2025 budget status reports and approved the General Fund and Road Fund budgets as written. The board appointed Don Johnston to the Development Review Board for a two-year term ending in 2028, approved a Town Hall application for a Feb. 1, 2026 birthday party (gym rental, 1:00–5:00 p.m.; deposit and fee received), and approved minutes from Jan. 6, 2025. Finally, the Selectboard approved the 2026 Town Meeting Warning as written; two petitions were placed under non-binding business (Article 5) per Town Attorney advice. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
These actions complete administrative housekeeping ahead of Town Meeting and maintain day-to-day operations for town services.
