Town Treasurer Liz Karle raised a procedural question about how to budget the Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer functions going forward, and the Select Board agreed to discuss that organizational matter at a later date. No decisions were made at the Jan. 6 workshop about reallocating duties or establishing a separate line item for the Assistant Treasurer.
Karle also told the board that the longstanding early‑payment 4% discount on education taxes has been underestimated in recent budgets; she noted it reduces receipts and that switching to quarterly tax collection would increase administrative costs. The board recorded these points for follow‑up but did not adopt any changes on Jan. 6.
