Council voted to accept final completion and the owner's acceptance of the Running Enterprises water system improvements contract after staff confirmed final pay requests and documentation were received in proper form. The city noted warranty periods remain in effect for the work.
Staff also presented procurement quotes for a circulation pump and piping upgrades (K&W Coatings, approximately $20,000), purchase orders for 110 natural gas meters (the meters purchase came in just under the budgeted amount) and a methane detector (budgeted at roughly $12,000). The city engineer said ordering the pump now would allow installation to coincide with planned spring water‑tower coatings. After discussion the council moved and approved the combined procurement motions by roll call.
Councilors asked about warranty start dates and procurement lead times; staff clarified warranties begin when the contractor completes the work and noted some pumps and meter components can take months to procure. "That would be to get this pump ordered such that they could install it when they're in town for their spring coatings inspection," the city engineer said.
