James Morris Richards, announced as being from Ridgeland and named by the chair for reappointment to the Commercial Transportation Appeals Board, joined the meeting by Zoom and outlined his industry experience before members voted to advise and consent.
Richards stated that he has served four years on the commercial appeals board and is up for reappointment. He described his work: "We we run about 3,500 trucks across the country, primarily, hauling food and pharmaceuticals, and, the 2nd largest refrigerated, carrier in the country," and said he is president and CEO of KLM Transport and also co-owns a company in Dallas called Frozen Food Express.
The chair read that the term is a four-year term beginning July 1 and ending 06/30/2030; the body moved to advise and consent and approved the reappointment by voice vote with no opposition recorded. Richards thanked the members after the vote.
